Former Mizoram minister's widow found dead

The 83-year-old widow of former Mizoram finance minister John Lalsangzuala was found dead in her room in Mission Veng locality here today, police said.

Zokhumi, who retired as headmistress of a girls school, might be a victim of a burglary in her house last night, police officials said.

Superintendent of Police P C Laldina said details would be available after post-mortem of the body.

Lalsangzuala was a veteran Congress leader and had been a minister for three terms.

At present, her son-in-law Zodintluanga is a senior minister in the state government.
