The Jharkhand High Court today granted bail to Kamal Kishore Bhagat who was sentenced to seven years in prison in a case of attack on a doctor.
Justice R N Verma granted bail to Bhagat after hearing a petition moved by the former MLA of AJSU party, a constituent of the state's ruling NDA.
The court also granted bail to another convict, A. Bodra in the case.
The court of Additional Judicial Commissioner Krishna Kumar had on June 23 awarded Bhagat and A Bodra seven years rigorous imprisonment after finding them guilty in the attack on the doctor in 1993.
