At least four persons have died and a nine-year-old boy has been seriously injured after being struck by lightning in Jajpur and Kendrapara districts of Odisha, police said today.
While three persons were killed and the boy was injured in Jajpur district yesterday, the other victim belonged to adjoining Kendrapara district, the police said.
The Jajpur victims were identified as Madhab Malik (50) and Nisarani Samal (15) of Bari area and Queue Behera (30) in Jajpur town police station limit.
The victim in Kendrapara was identified as Naresh Raya (36) of Mahakalpara police station area, the police said.
The injured was being treated at the SCB Medical College Hospital at Cuttack and his condition was stated to be critical.
