Four get life term for murder of SP leader, associate

Four persons have been awarded life sentence in connection with the murder of a Samajwadi Party leader and his associate in 2014.

Badal Khan, a local SP leader of Mataundh and Pankaj Tewari, were shot dead on August 12, 2014 in Katra locality, government counsel Miskin Ali said today.

District and sessions judge Bhupendra Sahay yesterday held the four accused, Jitendra Singh, Chotey Khan, Raj Kumar and Anil Singh, guilty of the crime and awarded them life imprisonment, he said.

The murder was a result of dispute over money transaction, he added.
