Four persons were arrested after being found in possession of a leopard skin at Bhimtal in Uttarakhand's Nainital district, forest department sources said here today.
Om Prakash Kashyap, Mahipal Chauhan, Jaiprakash Rastogi and Komal Prasad were held when their car was intercepted by a joint team of Nainital division SOG and the forest guards yesterday on a tip-off, they said.
The accused were found in possession of a 2.3 metre long and 1.4 metre wide skin of an adult leopard, they said.
However, two of their associates who were also with them in the car managed to escape, they said.
