Four, including cop, arrested for extortion

Four men, including a policeman, were arrested for allegedly extorting Rs 15 lakh from a man after threatening to implicate him in a false case, police said.

The incident took place in outer Delhi's Paschim Vihar area, the police said.

Apart from the arrested police officer, the other three accused -- Happy, Harry and Ankush -- are travel agents, they added.

The arrested policeman, identified as Dharmendra Dhangi, was posted with west district's vigilance unit.

A man hailing from had contacted one of the accused for preparing visas for the and Canada, the police said.

Last month, when he went to meet him the two other accused arrived there posing as Branch officers, they added.

The two accused blackmailed the man and extorted Rs 15 lakh from him after threatening to lodge a false case against him, the police said.

Later, the victim filed a complaint and subsequently, the police arrested the three who led them to Dhangi, the police said.

The police are looking for another who was also involved with the four accused.
