Four killed in two separate accidents

Four persons were killed in two separate incidents, police said today.

A cyclist was killed when he was hit by a car this morning, police said.

Gurmel Singh, aged 55, was killed near village Khurampur Gate on Phagwara-Hoshiarpur road when his cycle was hit by the car of Keemati Lal, who was returning after obeisance at Mata Chintpurni shrine in Himachal Pradesh, Sadar SHO, Ravinder Singh said.

Two other persons, kins of Keemati Lal, who were also travelling in the car, sustained injuries but were out of danger, he said.

In a separate mishap last night, two young motorcyclists died after their bikes collided head-on. While Sidharth, aged 27, died on the spot, Deepak, aged 26, succumbed to his injuries in a hospital here, Ravinder Singh said.
 

Meanwhile, in another incident, local police found a body hanging from a tree at nearby village Mehtan colony.

Police said the deceased was about 40-year-old, but was yet to be identified.

The body was found hanging from a eucalyptus tree and the police found a railway ticket from the pocket of the deceased.

The ticket was from Kishenganj to Jalandhar.
