Four Maoists surrender

Four Maoists, who were wanted in connection with various offences, surrendered before police here today.

Superintendent of Police (Vizag rural) Vikram Jeet Duggal at Narsipatnam in the district, before whom they surrendered, said the ultras gave up arms as they were disillusioned with the Maoist way of life.

Among those surrendered include 25-year-old Janni Mohan Rao, a native of Darlabailu village under G K Veedhi mandal in the district who has been working for the outfit since 2008 and emerged as Area Committee Member in Korukonda area committee in 2013.

Mohan Rao was involved in ten major offences including opening fire on police at R V Nagar, participating in the exchange of fire at Luvvasing, killing of Vanthala Malathi and a few other major offences such as blasting of APFDC's godowns. He was carrying Rs one lakh reward on his head.
 

Other three militia members are V Srinu, K Telanna Dora and K Venkanna, all from Chintapalle mandal, Duggal said.
