The Punjab government today suspended four Public Works Department employees, including two Executive Engineers, for alleged dereliction of duty.
A report of a panel formed to probe the reasons behind the collapse of a Railway Under Bridge, inaugurated at Bathinda in September last year, found dereliction of duty in the performance of four employees, PWD Minister Sharanjit Singh Dhillon said.
Following which, Manjeet Singh and Adesh Gupta (both Executive Engineers), Sub Divisional Engineer Kimat Lal and Junior Engineer Nishu Bansal were suspended, he said.
The railway under bridge, which was constructed under the supervision of the four PWD employees, had collapsed due to heavy rains.
