Four workers run over by local train in Chennai

Four migrant workers died today after they were run over by a suburban train here, Railway police said.

The workers belonged to a northern state. They were walking on the railway track near Chetpet railway station and did not notice the Electrical Multiple Unit (EMU) train coming from behind, a senior Government Railway Police (GRP) said.

The workers were killed on the spot, the official said, adding investigation is on to ascertain their home state and details where they worked in Chennai.
