Four youths of a family today drowned in a pond during immersion of the idol of Lord Ganesha in Borunda town near Jodhpur, police said.
"Durga Singh (25), Pradeep Singh (19), Abhishek Singh (18) and Happy Singh (17), all from a family, stepped into the water with the idol and swam to a deeper water in excitement, where they might not hold them up and drowned, they said.
After raising the alarm by the people, police rushed to the place and fished out the bodies.
