Freight rates decline on tight cargo movements

Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section declined by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market today following easy position of trucks against cargo movements.

Transporters said easy availability of trucks amid restricted cargo movements, mainly led to fall freight rates for select destinations.

Delhi to Indore, Ahmedabad and Baroda freight rates moved down by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 24,000, Rs 22,000 and Rs 25,000.

Rates to Mumbai, Pune and Guwahati also fell Rs 1,000 each to Rs 30,000, Rs 33,000 and Rs 59,000.
