Freight rates fall on easy trucks position

Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section fell by Rs 500 in the local truck transport market today following comfortable positions of trucks against tight cargo movements.

Transporters said easy availability of trucks in view of tight cargo movements, mainly kept pressure on freight rates for select destinations.

Delhi to Jaipur, Chandigarh and Hyderabad freight rate moved down by Rs 500 each to Rs 12,000, Rs 13,000 and Rs 49,000, respectively.

Rates to Ludhiana, Coimbatore and Goa also eased by Rs 500 each to Rs 16,000, Rs 66,000 and Rs 49,000, respectively.
