Freight rates for select centres decline

Freight rates for the nine-tonne pay load section dropped by Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today on easy availability of trucks as compared to restricted cargo movements.

Transporters said easy position of trucks in the markets against rstricted cargo movements, mainly pulled down freight rates.

Delhi to Ludhiana, Kanpur and Hyderabad freight declined by Rs 1,000 at Rs 18,000, Rs 20,000 and Rs 52,000.

Rates to Chennai, Maysore and Puducherry also went down by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 62,000, Rs 65,000 and Rs 66,000.
