Freight rates for select south destinations decline

Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section for select southern destinations eased by Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today following easy position of trucks in the markets.

Transporters said comfortable position of trucks against restricted cargo movements, mainly led to a fall in freight rates for select destinations.

Delhi to Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Coimbatore freight rates dropped by Rs 1,000 each at Rs 78,000, Rs 70,000 and Rs 68,000.

Rates to Puducherry, Chennai and Bengaluru also moved down by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 65,000, Rs 61,000 and Rs 59,000.
