Freight rates remain flat as truckers call off strike

Freight rates for the nine-metric tonne pay load remained unchanged at the local truck transport market after truckers called-off their eight-day old strike.

Truckers yesterday called off their eight-day old strike after the government's assurance to look into their demands, according to a statement.

In a joint statement released yesterday, the Road Transport and Highways Ministry and AIMTC said the strike has been called off.
