Freight rates slip on ample position of trucks

Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section for a few destinations moved down by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market in the national capital today following excess position of trucks in the markets against cargo movements.

Transporters said heavy availability of trucks compared with restricted cargo movements, mainly pulled down freight rates for some destinations.

Delhi to Chennai, Mysore and Coimbatore freight rates were down by Rs 1,000 each at Rs 65,000, Rs 67,000 and Rs 71,000.

Rates to Pune, Mumbai and Kochi also enquired lower by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 27,000, Rs 28,000 and Rs 74,000.
