Freight rates up on busy caro movements

Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section to select centres rose by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market today supported by busy cargo movements amid less availability of trucks.

Transporters besides tight position of trucks in the market, increased cargo movements mainly pushed up some of centres freight rates.

Delhi to Pondicherry, Coimbatore and Baroda rates moved up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 65,000, Rs 68,000 and Rs 23,000.

Rates to Hyderabad, Vijaywada, Goa and Kolkata also went up by Rs 1000 each to Rs 56,000, Rs 58,000, Rs 49,000 and Rs 29,000.
