As part of strengthening cooperation in education, French Ambassador to India Francois Richier today held discussions with the Vice Chancellor of Pondicherry University Chandra Krishnamoorthy.
On a week long visit here, Richier told a meeting of the faculty and University students at an interactive session that they discussed the existing Memorandums of Understanding inked by Pondicherry University and French Universities.
"Eleven MOUs had been signed in the past and we would encourage the agreements in letter and spirit and would also look at various newer areas," he said.

France and India had very 'vibrant cultural relations' he said and also referred to the initiatives jointly taken by France and India in various fields including promotion of science and technology.
French Consul General in Puducherry Pierre Fornier and Dean of the School of Humanities in Pondicherry University S Panneerselvam were also present at the interaction.
