French parliament votes to extend air strikes in Syria

French lawmakers today voted overwhelmingly to extend air strikes against Islamic State group targets in Syria, which have been stepped up following the Paris attacks.

The National Assembly approved a motion to prolong the operation by 515 votes to four, with 10 abstentions.
