A 21-year-old factory worker and his 14-year-old paramour allegedly committed suicide by hanging themselves from a tree over uncertainty of the fate of their relationship, police said.
The bodies of Roshan alias Suraj, a resident of Savan Park, and his lover were found hanging from a tree at Bonta Park in Maurice Nagar police station area of North Delhi this morning.
"They were found hanging by constable Raghuraj who was on patrolling duty around 9:30 AM today. Roshan was a factory worker in Wazir Pur Industrial Area and the girl was missing from her house in Bharat Nagar," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Sindhu Pillai.
Police have recovered a suicide note, in which they had stated that they were "in love with each other and fear that we may not be able to marry each other".
It seems that they might have hanged themselves last night. Further investigations are on, Pillai said.
