The Deputy Superintendent of Police raided a gambling den behind the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) bus station at Rajam here today and arrested about 20 gamblers playing cards.
However, no money was found since the gamblers adopted a new method of betting with coins which are considered equivalent to cash.
The police seized about 60,000 coins from them besides five motorcycles and 20 mobile phones.

The alleged kingpin running the gambling den called Burada Appala Naidu alias "Club Naidu" fled the place and the police is searching for him.
His arrest is expected to reveal the original value of the coins seized.
The raid was conducted at the instructions of Superintendent of Police A S Khan who constituted a special team under the supervision of the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Central Crime Station, Srikakulam.
