A gang of three persons has been arrested for allegedly stealing two-wheelers and eight motorbikes were recovered from their possession, police said today.
The trio were identified as Shubham, Aashu and Mohit, all residents of Bijnor, they said.
They were held from Mandwar road after a brief encounter with police. Eight motorbikes, three pistols and cartridges were also recovered from their possession, police said.

SP Ajay Sawhney said, "Shubham was the leader of the gang and had also previously been jailed in 2016 for stealing bikes and had come out of prison 5 months back. At that time, 18 bikes were recovered from him."
"His gang operated in Bijnor and the neighbouring districts of Haridwar, Amroha and Meerut," Sawhney said.
