Over 1,000 buyers from 94 countries such as the US, Europe, the UAE, Japan and Australia are participating in the India International Garment Fair which was inaugurated by Textile Minister Smirit Irani today.
"With 312 participants from 14 states coming together, India International Garment Fair is one of the largest platforms in Asia showcasing apparel & accessories," Irani said after inaugurating the 58th edition of IIGF at Pragati Maidan here.
She said that with the presence of 246 registered buying houses, IIGF will facilitate international buyers to source products and form collaborations.

Stating that festivity in terms of trade had begun under the aegis of AEPC, Irani congratulated the participants who she said came with a lot of hope, to present their talent to the rest of the world.
She also said that more than 1000 buyers are participating in the fair, so that they can leverage the talent that India has to offer.
Apparel export promotion body AEPC Chairman Ashok G Rajani said that 1081 buyers have confirmed from 94 countries across the world. Buyers from Europe, the United States, United Arab Emirates, Canada, Australia, Brazil, Chile, Uruguay, Argentina, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa amongst many others are participating in the event.
Fourteen states from India are participating, the major participating states being Delhi-NCR, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Gujarat and Karnataka.
