George and Amal Clooney have joined the fight against hate groups in the US following the deadly violence at a white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.
The celebrity couple's The Clooney Foundation has partnered with the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) and is making a donation of USD 1 million to the organisation in order to help it in its attempts to combat violent extremism in the country, reported The Guardian.
"Amal and I wanted to add our voice (and financial assistance) to the ongoing fight for equality. There are no two sides to bigotry and hate," George Clooney said.
"We are proud to support the Southern Poverty Law Center in its efforts to prevent violent extremism in the United States. What happened in Charlottesville, and what is happening in communities across our country, demands our collective engagement to stand up to hate," the pair added.
