Gerard Butler splashes out on Scottish home

"Olympus Has Fallen" actor Gerard Butler has reportedly splashed out almost 582,000 pounds on a bachelor pad in Scotland, just 10 miles away from where he was born.

The 45-year-old actor is now a proud owner of the luxurious three-bedroom property, which is located near Giffnock in south Glasgow, reported Star magazine.

The apartment features a drawing room and private balcony.

However, sources suggest the swanky flat won't be a bachelor's paradise for long, as he is rumoured to be planning to wed his girlfriend, Morgan Brown.

The couple - who started dating last summer - are yet to confirm their engagement, but the well-known interior designer has been sporting a diamond on her ring finger since March, sparking suggestions the Hollywood star has already popped the question.
