Mistakes and errors in birth and death certificates issued by NDMC can now be corrected at the zonal offices instead of the civic body's headquarters, a facility which was till now available only for rectifications sought within a year of registration of such events.
"Earlier, zonal-level facility for correction of mistakes in birth or death certificates was available only for such events occurring within 365 days of the registration. But now, even after a year's time, the same services would be available at zonal-level with effect from today," a senior NDMC official said.
Earlier, if the year of registration exceeded 365 days, the applicants had to get the rectifications done from the Civic Centre, NDMC's headquarters.
