Ghaziabad authorities expedite work for metro line extension

The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) today directed its officials to expedite work on the 9.41 km long extension of metro line from Dilshad Garden to New Bus Stand in the district.

On the directions of GDA vice chairman Santosh Kumar Yadav, the department officials conducted soil testing surveys at the proposed sites for metro stations on this route, an official statement by GDA said.

It informed that letters have been written to the power department for shifting two high-voltage electricity poles from the proposed sites.

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has already started the process of preparing maps for these proposed metro stations, the release said, adding GDA officials have been directed to expedite the work on this project without any further delay.
 

An MoU was signed between GDA and DMRC in this connection on June 17, setting 2017 as the deadline for the completion of this project.
