Giancarlo Esposito to star in 'Maze Runner' sequel

'Breaking Bad' actor Giancarlo Esposito is due to star in the 'Maze Runner' sequel.

The 56-year-old actor will play a character called Jorge who leads a group of survivors encountered by Thomas's (Dylan O'Brien) group, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Esposito joins Aidan Gillen, Rosa Salazar and Jacob Lofland among the newest recruits to the cast.

The second book in James Dashner's series follows the teenage cast as they escape the deadly maze into the blasted world beyond.

20th Century Fox will release 'Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials' on September 18, 2015.
