: The Finance Ministry has approved United India Insurance, Director and General Manager A V Girija Kumar holding additional charge of Chairman and Managing Director with immediate effect.
Girija Kumar, who began his career with New India Insurance in 1980, is a direct recruit officer and has 37 years of experience in general insurance industry.
"The Ministry of Finance has approved the assignment of additional charge of the post of Chairman and Managing Director to A V Girija Kumar, Director and General Manager", a press release from United India Insurance said.

He assumed charge with immediate effect.
In 2015, Kumar joined United India Insurance as its General Manager, the release added.
