Girl gangraped in Maharashtra

A 22-year-old girl was today allegedly gang-raped by two unidentified youths in Chikalthana area here.

The incident took place in the wee hours when the victim and her male friend halted at a place while returning home after attending work, an official of Chikalthana police station said.

The two youths who were following them intercepted and raped the girl. Her friend was also beaten up by the duo, he said.

Following a complaint by the victim, a case under section 376 (rape) of IPC has been registered and efforts are on to nab the absconding accused, police said.
