A girl student was killed and 19 others, including students and teachers of a government school, were injured, when the van they were travelling in skidded off the road in Pachapalayam on the city outskirts today.
The students of the school at Theethipalayam were returning after a tour to a nearby hilly area, police said.
While a 12-year girl died on the spot, the injured were admitted to a hospital here, where the condition of one student is said to be serious, they said.
