Girl killed, 5 students injured as school bus rams into tree

A 13-year-old girl was killed while five other students were injured when their school bus rammed into a tree on Rewari-Pataudi road near Chillarh village.

Shikha Yadav, a class VII student of a private school, was killed in the mishap, police said.

The injured students were admitted to a hospital here.

Driver Rakesh, who was arrested, reportedly lost control over the bus and rammed it into a tree.

Irate villagers blocked traffic on the Rewari-Pataudi road while demanding bus driver's medical examination to ascertain whether he was drunk at the time of the accident.

The road blockade was lifted by the villagers after police assured of strict action in the case.
 

The ill-fated bus was carrying about 20 students and was on its way to drop them to their homes.
