Girl raped by father in UP

A 17-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her father at Bhopur village here, police said today.

According to Police Circle Officer Syana Anvita Upadhyay, the incident occurred last Wednesday when the mother of the victim had gone to meet some relatives.

The girl, in her complaint, alleged that her father gave her milk which was mixed with some intoxicated substance, the official said.

The police have registered a case against the father and have taken him into custody, she said.
