Girl returning from tuitions raped, killed

A 13-year-old girl was allegedly abducted and raped today by some unidentified persons, who later killed her by brutally hitting on the head with a blunt object.

The girl, who lived in in Gaura village of the district, had gone for tuition and when she did not return, her family informed police after which a search was launched, they said.

Her body was found on the fields with severe injury marks on the head, police said, adding that a case of rape and murder has been registered.

Body of the girl was sent for post-mortem and combing operations were launched to arrest the accused, they said.
