Girl shot dead by jilted lover

A 22-year-old girl was shot dead by her jilted lover in Panchenda village here after she refused to marry him, police said today.

According to the police, Monika, a college student, was in a relationship for the past two years with Amandeep, a school dropout.

The accused had been angry at the girl for turning down his marriage proposal and in revenge shot her dead last night, they said adding he has been booked in a murder case.

The victim's father, Munesh Kumar, has already lodged a FIR against the perpetrator and the victim's body has been sent for the postmortem.
