Girl students block highway over restoration of bus service

The students blocked the traffic on the state highway number 71-A near Dighal village in the district for over an hour this morning, police said.

The protesting students said that the two buses especially for women were being plied by the roadway authorities since a long time but service of one of the buses was withdrawn without any reason some months ago.

The students claimed that they had to face lot of difficulties in travelling in the private buses, which always run over-crowded.

However, they agreed to clear the highway following an assurance made by the administration officials that the bus service would be restored soon.
