Aluminium prices traded higher by 0.35 per cent to Rs 141.60 per kg in futures trade today as speculators built up fresh positions, driven by a firm trend overseas amid upsurge in demand in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in January edged up by 50 paise, or 0.35 per cent to Rs 141.60 per kg in business turnover of 2,771 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in February was trading higher by 35 paise, or 0.25 per cent to Rs 141.45 per kg in 2,761 lots.

Meanwhile, aluminium for delivery in three month increased USD 20 to USD 2,227 per tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
