Goa Lokayukta has summoned Inspector General of Police Sunil Garg on October 21 to record his statement in connection with a bribery charge levelled against him by a businessman.
"Garg has been asked to remain present before Goa Lokayukta on October 21. His statement would be recorded during that time," a senior official in the anti-corruption ombudsman's office told PTI today.
Vasco-based businessman Munnalal Halwai had filed a complaint with Lokayukta against Garg. Halwai had alleged the senior police officer demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs 5 lakh to file an FIR in a complaint filed by him against another industrialist.
