A meeting of the ceasefire ground rules review committee was held between the Government of India and the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (Isak-Muivah) at Chumukedima here today, according to an NSCN(IM) statement.
The Government of India was led by Rina Mitra, Special Secretary (Internal Security), Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), and NSCN-IM was led by Gen Retd V S Atem.
Both sides suggested promoting the conducive ground environment while upholding the progress of sincere dialogue on the Framework Agreement, the statement said.
The Framework Agreement was signed by the Government of India and NSCN(IM) on August 3, 2015, for peace in Nagland.
Both sides are committed to move the Agreement forward to its ultimate in the soonest possible time, it said.
Among those who attended the meeting include 13 member NSCN-IM led by Gen (Retd.) V.S. Atem, officials from the MHA including Rina Mitra, Satyendra Garg, Joint Secretary (North east), MHA, R R Verma, Joint Director, MHA, Sreemathi Ghosh, Section officer, MHA, D K Pathak, chairman of the Ceasefire Monitoring Group and officials from security forces and the state government, it added.
