In a major haul, nine gold bars and four gold biscuits worth Rs 2.50 crore were seized from a woman who arrived at nearby Karipur international airport from Dubai today, a Customs official said today.
The gold bars and biscuits were found hidden in a jacket worn by Shabnam, 30, of Mattanchery near Kochi, Assistant Commissioner, Air Customs Intelligence, C P M Abdul Rasheed said.
The woman had gone to Dubai 20 days back on a tourist visa and returned today in an IndiGo airlines flight.
She has been taken into custody, Rasheed said.
