Gold jewellery looted from head constable's house

Gold jewellery worth Rs 80,000 was today found stolen from the house of a head constable in the police quarters near here, police said.

Gubandran, who is employed as a car driver to Salem city assistant commisioner Ganesan, was at work last night and when he returned today he found the house broken open and the valuables missing.

Police said the house of a police inspector was burgled, yesterday.
