Gold merchant relieved of 38 sovereigns

A four-member gang robbed a person of gold ornaments, weighing 38 sovereigns, near here, police said today.

The person, a gold merchant, was going on a two-wheeler last night when four persons on another two-wheeler waylaid stabbed and relieved him of the ornaments, police said.

The merchant, who was injured in the attack, has been admitted to hospital.
