Gold ornaments looted from locked house

Gold ornaments weighing 70 sovereigns besides Rs.Three lakh in cash were burgled from a house in Pollachi in the district.

Police said the owner of the house had gone to Udumalaipet along with her sister after locking the house on May nine.

On information that the front door lock was found open, the woman returned and found the gold ornaments and cash placed in an almirah, missing.

The almirah was found broken open, police said.
