Gold seized at MIA

The customs officials at the

Mangalore International Airport (MIA) seized gold weighing 700 grams from a passenger who arrived here from Dubai.

The passenger is a resident of Kandathpalli in the city. The value of smuggled gold is estimated to be about 18.9 lakh, an official release said.

Six numbers of ten tola bars were found concealed in the rectum of the passenger, it said.
