Gold worth over Rs 1 crore recovered from two air passengers

In two separate cases, gold worth Rs 1.29 crore was recovered from two passengers who arrived at the city airport from Singapore in separate flights, Customs officials said.

In the first case, one John Mohammed, was apprehended last night at the city's international airport and 2,458 grams gold worth about Rs 63 lakh was seized from him, the Air Intelligence Unit of the Mumbai Customs said.

In the second case, the sleuths apprehended one Imran Khan and recovered 2,583 grams of gold worth about Rs 66 lakh from him, they said.
