Gold worth Rs 25 lakh seized at Hyderabad airport

Gold worth about Rs 25.33 lakh was seized from a passenger at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport here today, a Customs official said.

Based on a tip-off, the officers of Air Intelligence Unit of the Customs seized 866 gm gold of foreign origin from a passenger who arrived from Dubai by Oman Airlines, he said.

He had concealed the yellow metal strips in a trolley suitcase, the official said.

The passenger is being questioned, he added.
