Gold worth Rs 25 lakh seized from air passenger

Gold bars weighing one kg and valuing Rs 25 lakh were seized today from a passenger who arrived from Dubai at nearby Karipur international airport, custom officials said.

Acting on a tip off, the officials checked one Shihab (26) of in Malappuram district, who came by an Indigo E-89 flight this afternoon and found eight gold bars hidden in his anus.

He was taken into custody for questioning, the officials said.
