Gold biscuits and bars valued at Rs 82 lakh were seized today on the Indo-Bangla border in West Bengal where two smugglers including one Bangladeshi were caught, BSF sources said.
The BSF men from the border outpost in Petrapole apprehended a 45-year-old Bangladeshi national Md Kammaluddin and seized six gold biscuits weighing about 700 gram from his possession.
Later in the day, the personnel of Tarali BOP apprehended a 22-year-old Indian Saddam Sardar and seized 15 gold biscuits weighing 1.7 kg from him.
The BSF of BOP Madhopur in Nadia district seized two gold bars weighing about 475 gram when it was thrown from the Bangladesh side to India side over the border fencing.
