Press Trust of India Mumbai
A goods train derailed today at

suburban Kurla affecting local rail services on the Harbour Line here, officials said.

The derailment took place in the wee hours around 3 AM when the train was negotiating a crossover at Kurla early this morning.

Since we have a Road Accident Relief Train at Kurla it was immediately pressed in to service and track was cleared quickly, " said senior PRO of Central Railway A K Jain.

He said that since CR runs maximum services on the CST-Vashi-Panvel section in the morning, bunching affected few trains at Harbour line and therefore they were running 10 to 15 minutes behind schedule.

There was no significant impact on main line suburban services and no cancellation of services have been reported so far, said Jain.
